Peggy Purser Freeman is the winner of 25 regional writing awards, a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the Oklahoma Federation of Writers. Ms. Freeman, drawing on her experiences as the eighth child of a sharecropper, enjoys writing stories that interest the entire family.

Milking a cow, hunting, rabbits and making pancakes into interesting shapes are some of the things she and Shyanne have in common.

The author spent her formative years in Swisher County, Texas. She currently lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.
